The USC is the central plant facility for the Noble Foundation’s Ardmore Campus.
-
The two-story facility totals 37,000 square feet, and is connected to other buildings on campus by 1,230 linear feet of 12’ x 10’ below grade tunnel system.
-
The structural integrity of the facility affords it the ability to withstand an F-5 tornado
-
The emphasis on the quality, size, and redundancy of the equipment housed within the Utility Services Center, illustrates the Board of Trustees’ commitment to protecting the Foundation’s scientific research and overall operations.
-
Chill Water Design uses two (2) 800 ton and two (2) 500 ton centrifugal chillers. The overall design utilizes primary, secondary, and tertiary pumping systems.
-
Steam Design uses two (2) 350-boiler-horsepower, firetube boilers. High pressure steam (75 psig) is distributed from USC to the buildings on the campus, where it is reduced to low pressure steam (15 psig), and used to generate heating water.
-
(3) 2,000 KW diesel generators and (1) 1,000 KW natural gas generator
-
(4) 1,000 ton stainless steel cooling towers, with space to allow one (1) 1000 ton “future” tower
-
(2) 15,000 gallon, above ground, double-wall diesel fuel tanks to serve the facility’s boilers and generators.
